Honest review We arrived with a table reserved for 8:30 PM, we settled in and noticed that the place seemed to accommodate more people than actually possible, with chairs pressed against the wall where it is difficult to sit, chairs bumping against those at other tables… On the table, we found the menus with the various types of pizzas and their possible sizes: Small, Medium, or Large (keep this in mind) We ordered by writing down the type of pizza chosen and the drinks, which arrived very quickly. We ordered the pizzas around 9 PM and did not see any traces of them before 10:20 PM. (It was not possible to order pizza with fries as they claimed not to have them since they only use fresh products, nor bell peppers because they were out of stock) From here, the first doubts began: The gluten-free small pizza arrived (attached photo) served on a dessert plate, with the surface barely filled; towards the end, a burnt piece of parchment paper was found that was almost consumed. Other various pizzas arrived, which were supposed to be of normal size, but seemed like small pizzas from other pizzerias. The margherita pizza had a poorly cooked dough and was very runny. The pizza with the sausages (cut only in half lengthwise) also had undercooked dough. Other pizzas arrived, some with problems in the cooking of the dough, others with rubbery mozzarella. However, the worst was the pizza with fresh sausage, which arrived with raw sausage and blood on the mozzarella (attached photo); after urging them to remake it, they brought me back the same pizza, just put in the oven for a few more minutes. The consequence? Burnt crust, blood on the mozzarella, and slightly more cooked sausage. The taste was of raw meat and the smell nauseated us throughout the meal. Dessert time arrived, and upon asking for gluten and lactose-free options, we were informed that out of four, two were ultimately unavailable, but after some prodding, they claimed they could still make gluten-free tiramisu. The latter arrived and was completely liquid. We were not satisfied at all with the food, especially considering the price, which ranges between €6-9, and if we add the lactose or gluten intolerances, it’s an additional €1 each. We were not satisfied with the service after the hour and twenty-minute wait. The bathroom also left something to be desired… However, we were impressed by the kindness of the gentlemen, whom I assume to be the owners. All in all, it’s not a pizzeria I would recommend. Gluten-free pizza was all okay.

Great experience. Excellent pizzas, both the regular ones and the gluten-free, thin and crispy... very well topped, house-made desserts all gluten-free and lactose-free are delicious, the fiesta cake is a real delight. Quick service and friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended, we will definitely return!

Pizzeria da Rita has exceeded all expectations! We had two delicious, light, and tasty gluten-free pizzas! Not to mention the desserts, the Fiesta cake and the coconut cheesecake, both out of this world, gluten-free and lactose-free. We will definitely return!

We discovered this pizzeria on the last night of our vacation in Cagliari. A simple and family-friendly atmosphere, the pizza was very good with a wide selection even for those with celiac disease. A special note for the homemade desserts made by Mrs. Rita, a real delight for the palate. When we return to Cagliari, we will definitely come back here. Valentino and Cosetta

Highly recommended for celiacs! Excellent quality-price ratio. Genuine, classic, delicious pizza, made to perfection, both the regular and the gluten-free one. We often ordered takeout pizza, but today on-site we also tried the desserts, particularly the Fiesta cake: an unexpected delight for a gluten-free dessert. All the desserts are gluten-free and lactose-free, with a great selection of beers. Thank goodness for Rita! 💘 The one in the photo is the gluten-free seafood pizza.🔝

I have been celiac since 2005. In 2006, in Viale Diaz, I discovered Mrs. Rita, who, having a celiac mother, dedicated herself to gluten-free services, which were quite rare and of poor quality in Cagliari at that time. Well, my review gives Rita and her family a solid 5 stars; she is a hard worker and always tries to do her best to satisfy everyone, which is known to be impossible, especially on days when the restaurant is full and they are dealing with gluten and gluten-free pizzas, both in the dining area and for takeout. Over the years, I have traveled a lot; I currently live abroad and have seen many gluten-free pizzas, but Rita's Pizza remains the best. Prices? It depends on the taste, but in my opinion, quality comes at a price; I prefer to spend 5 euros on a quality gluten-free pizza rather than 3 euros on a disgusting one. If you travel a bit, you'll notice that prices are much higher elsewhere. As soon as I return to Cagliari, if I want to eat a really good pizza, I go to her. The place reflects who they are: simple and genuine people. After all, what’s the point of going to an aesthetically cool place if you eat tiny portions that don't even reach your throat, and pay significantly more just to show off and take a couple of selfies to post?! There are occasions for everything and everyone, and everyone freely chooses where to go, but for me, they deserve 5 ⭐. Bye Rita
