Tried last night... gluten-free pizza was amazing!

We were in this restaurant yesterday for the event organized for Valentine's Day... the service times were perfectly respected, the gluten-free pizza was very good, but according to other diners, the fries were too salty and the regular dough was not suitable...

I ordered three takeout pizzas: 1 Margherita, 1 Brunelleschi, and 1 gluten-free pizza with lactose-free mozzarella, gorgonzola, and porcini mushrooms (where porcini might refer to tiny traces counted on one hand), 1 Daura beer (gluten-free beer) of 33 cl and a Coca-Cola. The delivery guy arrives and presents me with the bill "without receipt" for a total of 42 euros. I call the restaurant for clarification and they tell me the price is correct. Specifically, the Margherita is 6 euros, the Brunelleschi €10.50, the Daura beer, which costs on average in mid/high-end places 4/5 euros, they charged 6 euros, and the Coca-Cola €1.50... the rest is due to the gluten-free four-cheese pizza, which they priced as follows... starting from a four-cheese base that costs €9.50, which was supposed to include smoked mozzarella, mozzarella, parmesan, and gorgonzola, even though my pizza only had shavings of parmesan and a little gorgonzola. They add 4 euros for a bit of lactose-free mozzarella, 2 euros for mushroom fragments, and 2 euros for being gluten-free. So a white base with a little lactose-free mozzarella, parmesan shavings, gorgonzola, and mushroom fragments is counted as 9.50 + 2 euros for the mushrooms + 4 euros for substituting lactose-free mozzarella (the cost of lactose-free mozzarella is very close to that of normal mozzarella) + 2 euros for gluten-free... TOTAL for 1 PIZZA €17.50. I was very disappointed and feel robbed; if a person has health issues, there shouldn't be such dishonest price hikes from the restaurateurs...

I give one star because you can't give zero. On the phone, there's a rude girl who makes us wait without warning, then doesn't give us time to take all the wanted pizzas and doesn't tell us the price or the delivery time. When we call back to complete the order, everything is fine, but it's impossible to get the price before having the pizzas in front of you. Once they arrived, both pizzas ordered without mozzarella; only one of them was without mozzarella; one requested gluten-free (2€ more than a normal pizza) and it arrives with gluten. It's not pleasant to wake up vomiting the pizza from last night because someone can't listen and waits a second for the customer to finish talking. In summary, never again, we wanted a quiet evening with two nice pizzas, and we end up with one edible pizza that makes me sick.

The best gluten-free pizza I have ever eaten. Exceptional, it tastes like a normal pizza. Super fast service and very kind staff. I recommend everyone to try this pizzeria.

Every time I choose to spend a few days in Messina, I always opt to dine at Carmelino. Exceptional and friendly, along with its staff, it offers a wide selection of products, especially gluten-free ones. To date, I have eaten the best gluten-free pizza, thanks to its light and crispy dough. Highly recommended!
