'LA DUCHESSA Pizza & Bistrot' offers gluten-free options and a good central location. While the risotto and some pizzas are enjoyable, the service can be slow. A historic venue recommended for pizza.

gluten-free options, not everything is available, but what shouldn't have gluten is guaranteed, risotto, meat for the restaurant, and some pizzas. The risotto is good, the service is slow.

OVERRATED - A few days before the reopening, I was eager to try this historic venue recommended by everyone for a good pizza. The location is appreciated, as much as its super central position. In general: - Inadequate staff. Waiters struggle to take orders because they don’t know the menu (despite being quite limited). They can’t answer any questions without consulting the kitchen. - The first 4/6 pizzas were received at first, 1 pizza forgotten by the kitchen arrived 32 minutes later, the gluten-free one arrived 40 minutes later because, according to the waiter, "it caught fire". - The pizza is good for the Parma standard, but definitely inferior to places like OVEN. There were some issues with the pizza cooking. GLUTEN-FREE: 0/10 - If you're celiac, avoid it. - The waiter initially says: “Choose any pizza and we’ll use the gluten-free base.” A few minutes after the order, the verdict arrives: “it’s not possible, only margherita (classic, with bufala or with anchovies).” - The pizza arrived after 40 minutes, last at the table, because the first one, according to the waiter, was burnt. - Not only is the base already prepared, but the whole pizza is ready: even the tomato and mozzarella! As seen from the photo, the quality of that pizza is comparable to Lidl pizza, €3 (price here, €10). I regretted having to contradict the expectations, who knows...
