Restaurant of the certified AIC hotel. Almost the entire menu is available gluten-free. I had dinner there. Tried the appetizer, main dish, sides, and dessert. The courses were of high quality with remarkable flavors and aromas, especially the main fish dish. Impeccable service in the dining room, and the recommended wine was excellent. The only note was the dessert. Both I and the other diner had the "cannolata", I in the gluten-free version, the other in the normal version. While the normal version was rated excellent, especially for the ricotta, the gluten-free version was not memorable: the cannoli shell was soft and the ricotta too dense (perhaps the dessert had been frozen?). Very nice location. The bill was high, but proportionate to the quality of the dishes, the location, and the service.

Con mia moglie abbiamo fatto una vacanza in Sicilia, alloggiando 5 giorni in questo albergo. È una bellissima struttura, di fronte al mare, a Ortigia, nel centro di Siracusa. La stanza era veramente elegante, comoda e spaziosa. La prima colazione permetteva un’ampia scelta di prodotti freschi di ottima qualità. Abbiamo usufruito del ristorante anche per cena e siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti. In particolare, mia moglie, che è celiaca, ha potuto sempre mangiare piatti gustosi senza nessuna preoccupazione, anzi con grande soddisfazione. Una menzione a parte spetta al personale, pronto, disponibile e gentilissimo, ma anche con la giusta dose di calore umano. Se dovessimo tornare a Siracusa, torneremmo di sicuro all’Algilà.
